Halloween season is quickly starting again, and it is an opportunity to boost your e-commerce sales and offer personalized experiences to your customers.

According to the National Retail Federation, a record number of people will participate in the Halloween festivities this year, up to 73%, compared to the 69% of last year (2022). Take advantage of this opportunity!

This article will show you how to personalize your website with four already-made templates to boost your seasonal sales!

You can find all these templates by checking, in the Template section, the “Halloween” option.

1. Decorate your store: embedded banners with no code!

Our embedded editor makes it very easy to personalize your website content, from the notification's color to embedded banners.

Create a banner to promote specific Halloween-themed product categories, and easily embed it in your homepage directly from Datatrics. You can also decide to show these to a specific segment of users or change the targeting based on if they are coming from a specific campaign (with our UTM rules).

How to use it: personalize the color directly in our template editor, insert a gif showing the product you want to highlight and link to a dedicated landing page!

You can place this touchpoint in any position of your choice on your website.

2. Use a personalized coupon code

Highlight the offers you are running during this period by showing a notification that allows users to copy-paste the discount directly into their cart section.

Make your touchpoints eye-catching by playing with different promotions and CTA; the following template uses different versions of Halloween-themed images to highlight the convenience of a higher discount, which will increase your average order value.

How to use it: change the images directly in our template editor and edit the coupon code (click on TREAT10 in the template editor and change it in the code you see on the right; with the one of your choice, it will automatically work and be copy-pasted when the users click on it).

3.Gifts for each order

Insert a small gift for every shopping cart that reaches a minimum amount of value; it could be something Halloween-themed, or you could do limited free shipping or any incentive according to your marketing strategy.

You can use our dynamic targeting to show this notification when the customer reaches a minimum amount of cart value by adding in the targeting the rule: shopping cart → number of items in the shopping cart “is greater than or equal to 1” and cart value “is between” and then the value of your choice.

How to use it: Make sure the shopping carts are registered correctly and change the image directly in our editor and update the amount needed to reach the free gift by updating the formula that you will already find in our template ({{#mathNoRound 69 - shopping_cart_value}}, add your limit in here). Find more information in this article.

4.Delivery cut-off dates

To have your seasonal sales go smoothly, ensure that your customers are informed when is the last day available to buy and receive their purchases by Halloween. You can do so by creating an exit intent countdown notification, and to make it more relevant, you can implement it in the product pages.

In this way, when users view a product and leave without buying it, they will see the exact product they are currently viewing with the countdown to the last days till they can buy it to receive it on time.

How to use it: you can personalize the background and the CTA with the ones of your choice.

To update the countdown, follow these steps:

  • Open the template editor and go to other (on the right of the template title)

  • </> show/hide Code Editor

  • Javascript

  • In the first three row, add the last year, month, and day when the offer expires
