After clicking on “Audience Segments” in the audience section inside the platform, all the segments will be displayed. This dashboard contains everything you need about the segments you created.

In this overview, you can add, edit, duplicate and delete the segments. Segments created before May 21st, 2022, will receive a flare called: ‘Old Segment’, as you can see in the screenshot above.

When clicking on a segment, you will enter the statistic page of the segment. Here you will see a timeline and the statistical data you can find on the Acquisition page, but then only from one particular segment. Below, you can see the profiles that can be found in the segment.

Definition of audience segments

Audience segments are groups of known and/or unknown profiles that are segmented based on certain criteria, called audience targeting. These groups can be used for synchronizing to external platforms like Google Ads or an email service provider (ESP). You can also use audience segments to target profiles for your Datatrics touchpoints.

You might already have a few ideas on how to use segmentation for your Datatrics project. If so, we recommend you continue reading this article to find out how to configure audience segments. If you could need some inspiration, we advise you to check out some examples.

Creating audience segments

You can create an audience segment by clicking the deep-blue button called ‘Create Segment’ on the top right in the audience section. After clicking, a pop-up opens containing all the possible rules you can choose from. There are many options to choose from, and we understand that this might be overwhelming to you initially. If this is the case, we recommend reading this article about the audience targeting.

For this instance, we choose to create a segment of known profiles having at least one conversion in the last six months and are currently in the decision phase. As you can see below, you can select the retention days and the synchronization to integrations.

After saving the segment, you navigate automatically to the statistic page of the segment.
